Danny Torrance is a five-year-old child with a unique gift. His young
mind, still trying to learn such normal tasks as reading, feeds him
startlingly vivid images of events before they occur, in all their
terrifying or horrific detail.
Courtland Mead, who celebrated his ninth birthday during the filming of
"Stephen King's The Shining," has amassed an impressive number of
credits. He most recently starred in the television comedy series,
"Kirk," on the WB Network. He has starred in such telefilms as "Bitter
Blood," "Saving Grace," and "A Child Lost Forever," which earned him a
Youth in Film Best Actor nomination. His other television credits
include a recurring role on the daytime drama, "The Young & The
Restless"; a guest-starring role on "Baby Talk"; and over 20 national
commercials. Mead has also appeared in several feature films, including
"Only You," "Grand Canyon," and "Lake Consequence."
