Jack Torrance, a former teacher and a recovering alcoholic, is tormented by a continual awareness of his own capacity for rage. A rage that, unleashed by alcohol, once led him to assault one of his students and even his own son. A wealthy friend pulls some strings to get Torrance the job as The Overlook's winter caretaker, where Jack, an aspiring writer, hopes to finish a play and make amends with Wendy and Danny for the past.

Steven Weber is known for his roles in both television and feature films. He stars as Brian Hackett, the quick-witted pilot, in the long-running TV comedy, "Wings." He has also appeared in such films as Mel Brooks' "Dracula: Dead and Loving It," and "Jeffrey," based on the off-Broadway play. Weber's feature film debut came with the Vietnam saga, "Hamburger Hill," followed by the Swiss-made feature, "Les Anges," Barbet Schroeder's "Single White Female," and "The Temp." On television, he played JFK in the miniseries, "The Kennedys of Massachusetts." He also starred in the critically acclaimed telefilm, "In the Company of Darkness," as well as "In the Line of Duty: The Undercover Murders," "Deception: A Mother's Secret," and "Betrayed By Love." Weber made his Broadway debut in 1985 in Tom Stoppard's hit comedy, "The Real Thing," directed by Mike Nichols. His additional theatre credits include "Paradise Lost," "Made In Bangkok," "Something About Baseball," "Come Back Little Sheba," "Naked at the Coast," and "Death of a Salesman."
