Kevin Bacon has become the subject of a very interesting cultural trend, namely the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game. The idea is that any person who has been in a movie in the last 15 years can be linked to Kevin Bacon in six steps or less.

While we salute Kevin Bacon for his talent and energy, we recently discovered that the same phenomenon applies to Stephen King. In six steps or less, every actor in Hollywood can be linked to someone who has appeared in a movie based on a work by Stephen King.

Our "Six Degrees of Stephen King" game lets you join in the fun. We have chosen four Stephen King works (each of which has appeared on ABC Television) as end points and have also given you the name of an actor as the starting point. Build the link from the starting actor to Stephen King by dragging names from the column on the right side of the screen.

When you have filled in all of the boxes, click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the screen. If you have identified the correct links to Stephen King, you will know it. If not, rearrange your choices and resubmit.

You can move names around as many times as you want. To change a name, drag it back towards its original position and release the mouse button. The name will pop back into its home position. You can also drag a new name over an existing one. When you release the mouse button, the old name will be replaced by your new choice.
