At SPRI, scientists with bachelor's or master's degrees engage in many kinds of laboratory research, ranging from cloning genes to synthesizing novel compounds. As they gain research experience and demonstrate efficiency, productivity and independence, they may take on assignments of greater scope and complexity and have the opportunity for advancement.

Opportunities for Doctoral Degree Candidates

Scientists with doctorate degrees -- most often with post-doctoral research experience -- have even more diversified responsibilities. Their time is divided among experimental design and interpretation, hands-on bench work and supervision of associates.
