Ruder Finn Awarded Additional Seagram Americas Business New York, Nov. 17, 1997 - Ruder Finn announced today that it has expanded its existing business on Seagram Americas' Crown Royal Canadian whiskey and has been awarded a project for Seagram's Gin. The Agency will now manage and publicize the entire Crown Royal sponsorship calendar of entertainment and sporting events and will coordinate the national public relations campaign for the Seagram's Gin Perspectives in African American Art program. Crown Royal Crown Royal's sponsorship calendar of entertainment and sporting events includes the following: The Crown Royal Untamed and True Tour, a 44-city country music tour featuring Mark Chesnutt, David Lee Murphy and Gary Allan. This tour continues Crown Royal's five-year commitment to country music and culture and is the first time Seagram Americas has joined with its affiliate, MCA/Decca Nashville, to present a program of outstanding, contemporary country talent; Support of championship rodeo events and activities such as the national rodeo rankings - The Crown Royal PRCA Standings (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) and the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas; The Crown Royal American Turf Classic during Kentucky Derby Week, a major event on the international turf racing calendar; and Premier show jumping events such as The Crown Royal Grand Prix at the annual Hampton Classic in New York. Seagram's Gin The Seagram's Gin Perspectives in African American Art program continues the brand's 12-year commitment to supporting contemporary African American art. Perspectives in African American Art awards commissions to emerging African American artists in nine cities, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Los Angeles and New Orleans. The chosen artists will be in residence for a period of eight months at participating museums including The Studio Museum in Harlem, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Museum of African American History in Detroit, among others. The commissioned work resulting from each residency will then be presented to the public in the fall of 1998.
