Patrick Dempsey (PIERRE ARRONAX)

Young oceanographer Pierre Arronax, haunted by a rivalry with his scientist father, hopes to prove himself when he goes in search of a "monster" terrorizing the high seas. Instead he finds a ship of untold power, The Nautilus, and a passionate love with Mara, the daughter of the man who created the submarine, Captain Nemo.

Patrick Dempsey is currently at work on a pilot for ABC Television based on the feature film, "The Player." Dempsey made his feature film debut in the comedy, "Heaven Help Us." Additional feature film credits include "Can't Buy Me Love," (for which he won a Youth In Film award), "In The Mood," "Loverboy," "RSVP," "Bank Robber," "With Honors," "Outbreak," and the soon-to-be released "Hugo Pool," directed by Robert Downey, Sr. On television, he has starred in the American Playhouse Production of "In A Shallow Grave"; the miniseries, "JFK: Reckless Youth" and "A Season in Purgatory"; and the series, "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."
