"Spin City"
Tuesdays, 9:30-10:00 p.m., ET
One of America's favorite performers, Michael J. Fox, returns to series
television in a sophisticated ensemble comedy that reunites Fox with Gary David
Goldberg, the producer who launched Fox to stardom in "Family Ties." Fox plays
the Deputy Mayor of New York -- a man who quickly realizes that playing politics
not only applies to his professional life, but to his personal life as well. As
the ambitious Mayor's right hand man, Michael presides over a staff that seems
more like a dysfunctional family than a group of co-workers. Michael guides this
combative bunch through one crisis to another, all the while straining to keep a
protective shield around the Mayor (Barry Bostwick). Add to this a very sharp
girlfriend who is a member of the enemy camp -- the press -- and you get the
feeling that if Michael stops moving for even a second, the chaos will catch up
and run him over. From DreamWorks Television in association with UBU Productions
and Snowback Productions. Co-created and written by Gary David Goldberg and Bill
Lawrence. Michael J. Fox and Gary David Goldberg are executive producers.
