Ex-Marine Louanne Johnson (Annie Potts) is an inspiring teacher in a racially
charged, inner-city, East Palo Alto school system who wants to make a difference.
No matter which student, no matter what the circumstance, she will do anything
for her kids, such as tough Gusmaro (Greg Serano) or single-mother Callie (Tamala
Jones). Her biggest obstacle isn't in the classroom -- her greatest challenge
exists after school, when the kids hit the streets. She will tirelessly go
head-to-head with the school's jaded administration that views teachers as
babysitters. Her kids are worth that much to her. "Dangerous Minds" is based on
the hit movie and the inspirational memoirs of the real life Louanne Johnson.

association with Touchstone Television. The series reteams the movie's
Oscar-winning writer Ron Bass ("Rain Man") with executive producer Jerry
Bruckheimer ("Top Gun," "Crimson Tide"). Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider are
also executive producers. Also starring K. Todd Freeman, Stanley Anderson, Jenny
