The Communicator Awards is a national competition founded by communications professionals to recognize individuals and companies in the communications field whose talent and creativity achieves a high standard of excellence and serves as a standard for the industry. The Communicator Awards holds annual competitions for Video, Audio and Print Media.
With over 3,000 entries from 47 states and eight countries, The Crystal Award of Excellence is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the very best in the field.
"The Shining" CD-ROM press kit contains press releases, a complete Stephen King bibliography and filmography, a 20-minute video synopsis of the six-hour miniseries, and engaging interactive games. The CD-ROM press kit is one in a continuing series that Tumble has created for promoting ABC's programming and special events.
To extend the value of the CD-ROM, Tumble designed it for use on the Network's Web sites. The Web site used virtually the same content as the CD-ROM, but was targeted at consumers. Traffic to the ABC site nearly doubled after the release of "The Shining" Web site.
